I randomly logged into xanga this evening and discovered this post that I wrote exactly 2 years ago to this very day (woah). I remember having left it marked private while I tried to locate one other photo I'd hoped to include, and then it was never unveiled. Now must be the time.

Tribute to the NY Subway...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I actually recorded all the xanga posts I write in my head...

I can't tell you how many times I've thought, "that would make an interesting xanga post," but then I get too busy living new potential xanga posts that I never really write them.

Many of these stories revolve around things I see / people I observe / situations I encounter in the subway. Here's a sampling in photos:

My homebase platform. "Ladies & Gentlemen, this a Manhattan bound N train. Next stop, Astoria Boulevahd. Stand cleah a da closin' dohrs."

Picture 154

The view from the platform. I love that the first 15 minutes of my ride are above ground before the East River swallows me up, and I dive to the Manhattan underworld.

Picture 156

{THIS NEXT PHOTO WAS DELETED FROM MY CELL PHONE ACCOUNT, SO IT DISAPPEARED, BUT IF YOU READ MY DESCRIPTION, CLOSE YOUR EYES, AND IMAGINE...}

Two tap dancing girls being well appreciated by a shee-shee dog-toting young man. He gave them a dollar... and so did I. Welcome to the Times Square stop.

{FUN, EH?}

My all-time favorite...and the dudes' across from us on the train that night. ;)  Miss you, Nee-nee!

Post Israel NY 010

So thanks for taking the tour. Next stop... Hmmm...

Resurfacing...

So, I took a two year xanga posting hiatus. Still checked the siblings' sites almost daily, eager for another one of their insightful and creative postings. And I know most everyone's moved on to Facebook or some sophisticated blog to write, but this is where I feel at home, so this is where I'll stay for now. And for some unknown reason, I am inspired to briefly write now, after all this time.

Here's a goofy poem-ish something-or-other jingle I whipped up just now. It's a pretty acurate summary of what's currently in my head...

I am well. I can tell. Life is now. God is wow. NY is neat. Home's a treat. Winter's here. As is the New Year. Love is true. Hope is new. Fun is had. Fear is bad. Hurt is known. Healing shown. I am tall. Christ is all.

Speaking of my head...

- Ahhhh... Sweet sounds

It's a fresh day! This weekend launched me into a new season. "Ya mean, like winter?" - don't ask. ;) I love the newness. I love renewal. I love grace, 2nd chances and 402nd chances. HOPE. It can't be explained except that He gives it.

I have a new capacity for life. Ooo, does that make sense? It's grace poured out in abundance. The ability to live and live freely. And by golly, I just really don't care what people are thinking. Somewhere amidst the past few days, the filters were all thrown out. Those nasty contraptions that filter and strain, over and over and over, the living of good, raw, pure, true life until the living is no longer such because it's lost the roughage, texture, pulp, and substance that made it real life  in the first place. There were a few of those filters deeply installed in the mechanics of me. One called Others’ Minds, another Cultural Relevance, and a yucky one named Perfection Gauge. Fascinating huh? Boy, do I feel lighter though!

Strangely, I hadn’t yet thought about or realized this happening until this moment when my fingers started dancing on the keys and the words came out. It all had just happened, and this, I guess, is me celebrating the surgery I knew I was having but didn’t know for what reason!

Glad to share the experience with you. Maybe you’d like to sign up for the same surgery. I don’t know how to perform it, but I can recommend a fabulous Surgeon who does. Come to think of it, there is no one else who knows how to complete the operation successfully. Many are trying, but with devastating results. So be sure you get a consultation from the Specialist. He turns no one down, and the follow up care is stellar.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!! I’m cracking myself up!!! Yep, I feel great.

G’night/morning. Oh, and this post is dedicated to some people I know and have known; it is for the precious Honor Academy Core Advisor Class of ’01-02. I almost-never read other sites besides my brothers’ and sister’s, so I’m not in many loops of what’s going on in lives or if any of you will see this, but you have all been in my heart, mind, and prayers lately, and I am thankful for the brief chunk of life we spent together.

Loving Living Life, SKY

I like avacados.  Very much.

This post is dedicated to avacados. And to all things that remind one of avacados.

And to summer.  And to Jeanine who tied me up and forced my fingers to type a post since "the tulips were from the spring" and now we are "preparing to go into fall" even though I'm not preparing for any such thing because I am busy living my summer, thank you very much.

There you have it. Peace, love, and amazing, ripe, wonderful avacados to you all...

SKY
